The 2010 UCI Mountain Bike World Championships continued on Friday with the junior men's cross country race, U23 men's cross country race, and the elite men's and women's four-cross competitions. Seth Kemp had a super-impressive ride, taking 18th place among the junior men. In the U23 event, Robbie Squire was the highest placed American in 31st, and in the four-cross, Barry Nobles put on quite a show and rode to seventh place.

The USA Cycling National Development Program will field six of the country's top under-23 talent at the upcoming Tour de l'Avenir. The group, who have logged hundreds of days of European race experience with USA Cycling's NDP between them, should be among the favorites to win the Tour of the Future, the U23 equivalent of the Tour de France.

After inclement weather forced delay well into the afternoon the 2010 Richardson Bike Mart USA Cycling Masters Track National Championships continued on Thursday, awarding 12 national titles at the Superdrome in Frisco, Texas. After an extremely late night filled with time trials, points races and sprints, all events are back on schedule for Friday.

The 2010 Richardson Bike Mart USA Cycling Masters Track National Championships got underway on Wednesday, awarding 13 Stars-and-Stripes on Wednesday before the Texas skies opened up to a torrential suspending the evening session. All competition will resume in order on Thursday morning at 8:00 a.m. at the Superdrome.

The 2010 UCI Mountain Bike World Championships kicked off on Wednesday with Todd Wells, Rob Squire, Seth Kemp, and Katie Compton placing the U.S. ninth in the team relay and junior rider Essence Barton riding to 13th place in the junior womenandrsquo;s cross country event.

A new group of junior road cyclists recently completed a trio of kermesses in Belgium while their off-road counterparts raced against world-class fields at the UCI Mountain Bike World Cup finale. U23 rider Andrew Talansky was second in a stage of Valle de Aosta last week. On the women's side of USA Cycling's development initiatives, a team of six young women just completed the Classica Citta di Padova and are now racing in the Holland Ladies Tour in the Netherlands.

The Richardson Bike Mart USA Cycling Masters Track National Championships will go off September 1-5 at the Superdome in Frisco, Texas. The two- and -three kilometer time trial events will kick things off on Wednesday. In all more than 250 masters track athletes will compete for the right to wear the Stars-and-Stripes signifying the country's best.

Although Catherine Cheatley and Luis Amaran all but had the USA Cycling National Racing Calendar 2010 individual titles in the bag heading into the final event, their teams were still fighting for every point. The Fly V Australia men's squad pulled out all the stops at the Chris Thater Memorial, finishing one-and-two to lock down the men's team title. Cheatley finished second to help earn the overall women's title for the Colavita/Baci p/b Cooking Light ladies.

The 2010 UCI Mountain Bike World Cup is officially in the books as racing wrapped up on Windham Mountain in New York's Catskills on Sunday with the men's and women's downhill contests. Reigning U.S. national champ Aaron Gwin earned a spot on the overall World Cup podium in only his second year racing the World Cup circuit. His fourth place finish in Sunday's final earned him fourth place overall in the final World Cup standings.

Saturday was a good day for American women as both Willow Koerber and Georgia Gould wrapped up the Mountain Bike World Cup season on the podium, in second and fourth respectively in the final overall standings. The women's success came during a busy day of racing at New York's Windham Mountain. The UCI Mountain Bike World Cup finale not only featured the elite men's and women's cross country contests on Saturday, but also the elite four cross competitions and the junior men's and women's cross country events.

Registration is now open for UCI's men's Continental and women's road teams. All teams wishing to register must contact USA Cycling before October 31. All UCI documents and contracts must be submitted to USA Cycling before November 5. New teams for 2011 should immediately contact USA Cycling Technical Director Shawn Farrell.

After a year filled with BMX successes, USA Cycling is thrilled to maintain its partnership with Intense BMX and to expand on efforts to develop Americaandrsquo;s extensive pipeline of Bicycle Motocross (BMX) athletes. It gets underway this weekend with the top off-road athletes from around the world gathering in Windham, NY for the UCI Mountain Bike World Cup finale. Citizen bicyclists are invited to join in on the action during the Race the World events taking place at the Windham 2010 Mountain Bike World Cup Festival this week.

Levi Leipheimer, racing for Mellow Johnny's, won the six-day Larry H. Miller Tour of Utah on Sunday. Meanwhile, the penultimate race on the National Racing Calendar only served to tighten the margins between the top men's and women's professional teams in the country.

On the road, Lawson Craddock won the King of the Mountains competition at Germany's Regio Tour while riding for USA Cycling's National Development Program junior squad. More USA Cycling juniors just arrived in Belgium for a European race trip while a USA Cycling BMX Junior Development Program Camp recently wrapped up on the Olympic Training Center's Super Cross Track in Chula Vista, Calif. Additionally, USA Cycling is fielding a large contingent of development riders for the Mountain Bike World Cup finale at Windham Mountain, NY this weekend.

The 2010 USA Cycling elections concluded on Aug. 15 with more than 2,000 USA Cycling members casting a vote for their respective Boards of Trustees (BOT) which comprise the political structure of USA Cycling. In all, 14 trustees were elected across five associations representing various stakeholders of USA Cycling.
