Each Monday morning we will be riding about 30 to 40 miles through Keller, Westlake, Trophy Club, Roanoke areas returning via Alliance, Christhaven, Keller and North Richland Hills. Initially we will be leaving from 5613 Puerto Vallarta in NRH but a different start location can be determined by the group riding.
Average speed will be 14-16 mph. This is a casual breakfast ride. We stop at Dove Creek Cafe in Roanoke (about half way) to eat. Maps can be provided. Join us if your schedule allows. Call me if you need directions or additional info.
The meeting will start at Colonel's Bikes in Ft. Worth. Following the meeting BHBC members may gather for dinner at Jon’s Grille next door to the bike shop.
Tire repair clinic provided by Colonel's Bicycle Store.
The BHBC membership has been invited to participate in the Walk America event as a cycling club. We are asking all DFW members to join us on April 22nd in this fund raising ride. This is a great opportunity to benefit the March of Dimes, participate in a Bell sanctioned activity, enjoy a picnic in the park and ride your bike with your BHBC friends!
Each member who elects to participate will be provided an envelope in which to collect donations. The money is due to be turned in on Thursday, April 6th. I have collection envelopes for BHBC members to use. Please contact Bob Ellithorpe or your March of Dimes Walkathon Team Captain to arrange a pick-up / drop-off of collection envelopes. If you contact the local Team Captain, then remember to tell Bob Ellithorpe you are participating as a cyclist not a walker so that he can include you on the BHBC Team Roster. We ask that you turn in your funds to either Bob or the local Team Captain. Your collections will be tallied with the BHBC March of Dimes Team. It is very easy to participate and every Bell employee who raises at least $30 in donations will receive a free Bell March of Dimes T-shirt.
Jim Wilson from the LMRA Bicycle Club has invited all members of our club to attend a Ft. Worth City Meeting regarding bicycle paths. Please see the attached PDF file for more information. - Admin
From Jim Wilson:
The meeting is next Wednesday, 6pm, at Fort Worth City Hall. It came about because I started asking the FW Sr Planner for Transportation & Public Works questions about why the previously approved 60 miles of bike routes had yet to start. It's detailed in the attached flier.
We've sent flier to every FWBA council member, Lone Start Racing, Tri City Runners, Cow Town Tri-athletes, Home Owners Assn on west end of Bellaire, Mid-City Wheelmen, CAMBA, and Broken Films Racing. We've posted on our website, it will be on LMCO Weekly Web InSite this afternoon, it's at Colonel's, LMRA Fitness Center, Pearl Izumi, and sent to the start-up DFW Bike advocacy group. Basically, since last year there were Mobility & Air Quality meetings with 15-20 attendees… I thought this was good time to actually have people show up. I really hope that's the case. This town has never had a true showing of cyclists to demonstrate we exist, and want some issues met by our local city governments.
